Jacobus Lambertus Dispo was born on March 10, 1890 in Steenwijk and died March 27, 1964 in The Hague.
Lived and worked in Steenwijk, The Hague, Cologne, Frankfurt am Main and Groningen.
In 1924 he settled in The Hague.
He was a student at the Evening Craft School in Steenwijk, then at the Academy of Visual Arts in The Hague (1908-1910).
Dispo worked at a mosaic studio in Cologne and was a teacher at the Painting School in Groningen from 1921-1924.
After 1924 he worked as a decorative painter and painted many dioramas during that time.
From 1935 he worked exclusively as a painter, in particular of cityscapes (old city districts) and church interiors.
